Belly Dancing

Thursday, April 30th, 2009 | Delicious | Comments Off

A friend told me about how she lost weight by belly dancing and I was amazed by the results. My friend looked fit and trim. She invited me to join one of her classes soon and I accepted.

I discovered that belly dancing effective helps shed calories and fat with each constant movement. After a few belly dancing sessions, I felt my balance, posture, and flexibility improve. I also felt more graceful and relaxed. What I also love about belly dancing is the wonderful, exotic costumes that I get to wear. I love the shiny ornate coin belt and the sound that it makes when I shimmy my hips to the rhythm.

With my constant belly dancing, I felt my hips, thighs and abdomen tighten. I was so happy when I discovered that I lost two inches from my waistline. I love the feel of sweat dripping on my back while I move my hips and arms. I sometimes imagine I’m in the Middle East dancing in front of Sheiks.

Now, I encourage most of my friends to try belly dancing as well. Not only is it fun, but it can help improve self-confidence. It also coordinates body movements and increases energy.

Quincy’s Presents

Quincy turned fifteen years old today. When his mother woke him up this morning, he was greeted with a large birthday cake with fifteen lighted candles.

That afternoon, Quincy invited some friends over for his birthday party. They came bearing gifts for him and that made Quincy really happy. At his party, they played pin the tail on the donkey and numerous parlor games. Quincy also tried to hit a piñata but missed by a few inches. A friend of his finally hit it after a few tries and out came lots of candies and chocolates. They had a great time picking and eating each one up.

After spaghetti, cake, and ice cream, it was time for presents. There was a huge pile of gifts in the middle of the family room and Quincy started opening each one of them. He received various toys such as remote controlled cars and Transformers robots. But what attracted his attention most was an entire slot car set. With the main car, it also has several slot car tracks and decals. He loved it.

Quincy’s birthday was a blast. He hopes that next year will be more enjoyable. Before he went to bed that day, he thanked his parents for a wonderful birthday.

Hair Makeover

All my life, I’ve had chest length hair. My hairstyle depends on my daily mood. On hot days, I tend to wear it up in a ponytail or in a bun. On days that I want to be seductive, I wear it half up and half down. I usually wear my hair down when I sport a revealing top.

Having a long hair requires a lot of maintenance. Constant brushing of the hair is needed to keep it organized especially on an extremely windy day. Numerous hair serums and conditioners are also needed to preserve my hair’s shine and body.

I have finally decided to cut my hair short after all these years. I wanted Rihanna or Posh Spice’s hairstyle. I just hope that the upkeep is not too much. I don’t have the patience to blowdry or iron my hair.

As I sat in the salon chair, my heart started beating faster. Will I look okay? Will my face look big? The stylist assured me that the specific style he has chosen will frame my face and enhance my features. I wanted to stop him when he started snipping my hair but I couldn’t turn back now.

When the stylist was finished, I opened my eyes and saw a younger and beautiful me. I love my hair makeover. I’m glad I did it.

Donna is on her second trimester of pregnancy. She is having a baby girl and the whole family is just so excited.

Even though she is comfortable with the pregnancy, there are several instances that her stomach gets queasy. All throughout her pregnancy, Donna can’t stand the smell of perfumes. She even prohibited her husband from wearing any type of fragrance. Donna also carries a thick handkerchief wherever she goes, so she can cover her nose she smells something unpleasant.

The taste of milk makes Donna want to cry. Though she needs to drink at least one glass daily for calcium, she just covers her nose and forces it down her throat. If that doesn’t work, she mixes a bit of chocolate powder in the milk to make it taste more appealing.

In extreme situations, Donna sometimes doesn’t want to hear the clock ticking. She finds it annoying and even removed the batteries from their several watches at home.

Nine months seems like a long time to wait for the baby to finally come out, but Donna knows that it is worth the wait. She is sure that her daughter will be adorable and cute. She just wishes that her baby with be healthy and normal.

Here We Come

I am so excited about our family vacation next month. This year, our family’s theme is cheap and fun. We are looking for several locations that are perfectly fun and compliment our cheap family vacations.

My sisters and brothers have suggested different vacations ideas and all of them sound great. Disneyland is my sister’s first suggestion but then she changed her mind and said that it would be much better if we go to the beach instead. While my brother suggested we should go to a working farm. He said it would be so much fun milking cows and riding horses. I thought all of their ideas were great but we all had to hear my parents’ idea too.

It turns out my parents’ cheap family vacation idea was the best. They suggested that we should go hiking in a thick and wonderful forest and then camp there for the night. The forest that they were considering was safe and popular with families who love to gaze at the stars at night while being in Mother Nature’s arms.

We all agreed to go with my parent’s idea for we all love to go hiking and camping. A few more weeks to go and we’re going on our cheap family vacation!
