Shoe Storage Benches Designs

If you decide to keep your footwear in shoe storage benches and start shopping for one either on the Internet or in brick and mortar stores, you will find a number of designs available. They also come in different finishes, colors, and materials.
Most of the designs you will see are of a regular-sized bench, about 20 inches high, 42 inches wide, and 16 inches deep, whose bottom portion is enclosed at least on its sides and back. The front may or may not have doors. If it does, they may be sliding or hinged. The bench has two or three shelves designed to hold your shoes. A variation of this design is a front panel that can be tilted open to reveal a pivoting case with shelves designed to hold footwear.
The seat may or may not be cushioned. If cushioned, it can be upholstered either with leather, leatherette, or some kind of fabric of different colors. There are some benches that include a drawer below the seat. These are meant to hold socks, gloves, or perhaps scarves and handkerchiefs.
Cherry, oak, and maple are the most common material used for wood benches. These are often finished in varnish to protect the wood surface, although some are coated with paint. Others are made of particle boards with laminate finish, and plastic.
